2017 ROOSTERFISH EXPEDITION
Guy and Jessica Harvey, the father and daughter team in ocean conservation, travelled to Piñas Bay, Panama to participate in the 3-day 2017 Tropic Star Lodge Roosterfish Tournament. They worked with tournament contestants and the incredible Tropic Star Lodge staff to tag and release 80 roosterfish in a new study by the Guy Harvey Research Institute. Roosterfish were tagged with yellow conventional tags with information on what to collect if recaptured. The study will help scientists to determine movement patterns and management opportunities for this important recreational species. His team, with the help of Fishing Director Captain Richard White, documented the tournament proceedings and managed to assist the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF) with tagging a large roosterfish with a PAT tag!
