The Guy Harvey Research Institute at NSU is happy to announce the recovery of a satellite tag! Originally deployed on a Pacific sailfish as part of the Eastern Tropical Pacific Seascape Research Program, the tag was carried for 160 days before it was caught by Ecuadorian commercial fishers. While researchers are sorry to see this track end, recovering the tag allows them to download the full data set and recycle the tag to be used on another fish. Special thanks to colleagues at the Charles Darwin Foundation, the Ecuador Ministry of Fisheries, and the fishermen for their assistance in returning the tag.
