The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation (GHOF) was recently in Washington D.C. for the annual meeting of the Center for Sportfishing Policy (CSP). The CSP is a consortium of leaders in the marine industry organized to advocate for recreational saltwater anglers. Key issues for Center include: Passing the Modern Fish Act to fix the Magnuson-Stevens Act; Ensuring robust public access to federally managed waters; Reforming the Renewable Fuel Standard; Re-evaluating the Gulf Red snapper fishery; and many others. These matters were discussed during the course of the meeting with top administration and Capitol Hill officials, including representatives from the Department of Commerce and the House Natural Resources Committee, among others.
